Portfolio - Improvement

Over the past two years, I have improved my reading, writing and speaking skills. Before high school, I wasn’t able to understand what I was reading very well. Now, I am able to understand and verify the context and use context clues to understand what I am reading. I improve these skills by practicing and getting help. I practiced by reading out loud to myself. My speaking skills weren’t that good. I wasn’t really able to speak English. I had to learn a different language and that didn’t help my schooling. I had improved where I can spell words and put things together. Before high school, I wasn’t able to work well in group. I didn’t do any school work or anything that involved turning it work. Now, I am turning my work on sometimes and I know who to ask for help when I need it. I am always checking if I have done my homework. I have improved where I am turning assignments and always asking for help. I check my work to see if I turned it in. I will have someone check it over for me and help me. My technology skill before high school were a little bad than there are now. As long my as teacher helps I think it will get much better. It will help me for when I move on to college and it will help me in life. I will improve spelling things out and I will take time to write it out. The next two years I will take everything that I learned in school and it will help me to move on with my life. It will help me talk to people and help me to write papers. It will help me in life because the wrong grammar can’t help you with anything and won't get you anywhere.

My Educational Experiences

Due to my educational experiences, I am currently improving in my school work. For example, because I am now attending SPA, I am more stable. I also am more capable and have the support that I needed to pass my classes. For example, when I was attending Seven Hills Middle Schools, I was only there for a month and a half. I didn’t learn as much in my education because I was not at that school very long. I moved around a lot. When I attended El Cajon Valley High School, I felt that I wasn’t prepared because I missed school a lot in the previous year. After attending El Cajon Valley for a few months, I felt like I had some more education and stability. However, that didn’t last long, because I then came to SPA. In order to make that I am successful in school, I focus and try to attend all my classes.

End of Year Reflection – Greatest High School Obstacle

The greatest obstacle I have had to face is keeping my grade up. Because I moved from school to school a lot, it messed up my grades. At one school, they would be on a certain unit, and then I would move to another school where they were learning something completely different. All these changes and new school settings annoyed me. I was annoyed because I wished that I could stay in one place. I would become very confused and felt like I didn’t learn anything. Now, thing are different. I can stay in one place. I also know that I can go to college.

Academic Language Week 35 - Sweatshops

Are sweatshops a violation of people's human rights? I think they should they should because they should have the right like everybody else should. If their not have the same right then their no point having people work for the sweatshops. And it not right they want same rights because say they need help their family out and they can't when they got someone whipping them and tell them what to do 247.

Spring Break Blog Paragraph

Describe the most memorable day of Spring Break.

When I was in six period I was looking at clock waiting to leave. When the bell ring I was really happy because I was going on pass in couples hours and I couldn't wait to go because I know everything when I go on pass there always something planes. So when I go on pass I was really happy because I need my break away from here. So when I know that I was going to be beach next day I was happy because I know going good day and it good time for me and my big sister to talk and get our relationship back. And we have other planes going that day and then we have more planes to next day I was having so much fun these spring break I was sad when I had to come back to campus.

Academic Language Week 29 - School Conferences

I don't think that parents should go to jail for not attending a school conference. Because some parents can not it the time off without tell their boss head of time . And some parents cannot make it in time they might be a couples hours away for their kids school and they might not make on time and hold everybody up. They should do something over the phone and they will still attend conference and be at work without take any time out there paycheck and their boss won't stay why are you not working or why aren't you doing anything work.
